Blood Donors Kerala

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Crescent College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Madayipara, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 14 July 2026 at 10:30 AM in the Pharm D Block, in association with Government Medical College (GMC), Kannur and Blood Donors Kerala.

The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraging students, faculty members, and the public to become regular blood donors. The camp commenced with a brief inaugural session highlighting the significance of blood donation in saving lives and supporting emergency medical care.

A qualified medical team from GMC Kannur carried out donor registration, health screening, haemoglobin estimation, blood pressure measurement, and blood collection following all safety protocols. Volunteers from the NSS Unit efficiently coordinated the registration process, guided donors, and ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. Refreshments and certificates of appreciation were provided to all eligible donors after donation.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teaching and non-teaching staff, and volunteers. The programme not only contributed to strengthening the blood bank reserves but also instilled a sense of social responsibility and humanitarian service among the participants.

The Blood Donation Camp concluded successfully with a vote of thanks to the medical team from GMC Kannur, Blood Donors Kerala, the college management, NSS volunteers, faculty coordinators, and all the donors for their valuable support and participation. The event served as a meaningful initiative towards promoting voluntary blood donation and reinforcing the spirit of community service.
