The north Malabar Development Society was established in 1990 under the chairmanship of Ex-Minister of Forest, Janab.KP Noorudeen with the vision to engage in social service activities aimed at improving the living conditions and general welfare of the society living in Kannur district of Kerala.

Founding member of the society are E.K Abdul Hameed Who is the director of the organization, APM Harris, Treasurer, TP Hameed Haji Vice Chairman, SAP Hameed Haji General Secretary and E.K Abdulrahiman Siddiqe, E.K Abdul Razack, PAP Marzad, COK Fathima and K.M Khadeeja functioning as the executive member of the governing body.
