LSSSDC-PMKVY 4.0 Upskilling Programme for Retail Pharmacists Commences at Crescent College of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Kannur: An upskilling programme for registered pharmacists, organized under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, commenced at Crescent College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Madayipara, Kannur, on January 27, 2025. This five-day course aims to enhance the quality of pharmacists in dispensing and counseling, aligning with the government’s initiative to improve professional standards in the healthcare sector.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the college premises and was officially launched by Sri. Saheed K, President of Madayi Grama Panchayat. The event was presided over by Mr. O. C. Naveenchand, President of the Kerala State Pharmacy Council.
In her welcome address, Dr. Suja C, Principal of Crescent College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in empowering pharmacists to deliver better healthcare services. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sarathchandran C, Central Council Member of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), highlighting the programme’s significance in addressing contemporary challenges in the pharmacy profession.
Dr. Sujith S. Nair, the single point of contact for the programme, extended the gratitude and thanks to the LSSSDC , PCI Trainer and participants, while Dr. Kiron S. S. from Government Medical College, Kannur, who will lead the sessions over the five days, delivered a felicitation speech during the inaugural function.
The programme has enrolled 27 pharmacists, and sessions will continue until January 31, 2025. The initiative will conclude with an assessment and certification process conducted by an external assessor.
